Excellence Scholarships  
BP STEM Scholarships 

Students joining the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) will be eligible to compete for a BP Scholarship worth up to £20,000 (£5,000 per year). These highly prestigious scholarships are renewable for each year of study, providing the recipient obtains full credits and an overall year mark of 60% or higher. Several of these highly prestigious scholarships will be available across the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and all our undergraduate students are eligible to apply after enrolment.

William Boyd Dawkins Scholarships

During the admissions cycle we will be inviting applicants to visit the school and holding interviews, which will  help us select the recipients of our prestigious new William Boyd Dawkins Scholarships (up to ten awards to the value of £1000). These Scholarships will be awarded in April to students who have accepted our offer at that time and will be contingent on A-level results. All applicants will be considered for these scholarships.

For Geology and Environmental Science degrees:

  • Students who achieve the equivalent of AAA or better at A level will be awarded £1500 in their first year.
  • Students who achieve the equivalent of AAB at A level will be awarded £1000.

For Petroleum Engineering degrees:

  • Students who achieve the equivalent of A*AA or better at A level will be awarded £1500 in their first year.
  • Students who achieve the equivalent of AAA at A level will be awarded £1000.
Manchester Access Programme

All students who we recruit from the Manchester Access Programme receive a scholarship of £1000 in their first year.

Loyalty bursaries for UoM undergraduate students progressing onto a Taught Masters degree in SEES

Undergraduate students who hold a relevant degree from the University of Manchester and then register onto one of our Taught Masters programmes will receive a loyalty bursary of £1000. 

Manchester Master's Busrary 

The University of Manchester is offering 100 bursaries for master’s students, each worth £3,000 in funding, to UK and EU students who will be starting taught or research master’s courses in September 2017. Click here for more infromation.
