Apply for a course
Choosing your degree course is one of the hardest and most important decisions of your life. We want you to make the right choice for you. Take time to explore our different degree courses and read the details about our course units and fieldwork opportunities.
Talk to us
Don’t be overwhelmed by the decision you have to make. If you have any questions about the School of Earth and Environmental Science and the courses we offer then please do not hesitate to get in touch. We would love to hear from you and provide you with any information or advice which could help you to make your decision.
The best way to get a feel for the atmosphere of our School, see our facilities and meet the staff, is to come along to one of our Open Days. If you cannot make it to an Open Day, please get in touch and we will find a time to meet with you at your convenience.
How to apply
All applicants should apply for one of our undergraduate courses through the UCAS system. If you already have your exam results please contact the school directly. You can also find out more about the admissions procedure for UK and international students on the University website.
Once you have selected Manchester as a choice on your UCAS form, your application is sent automatically to us. Our admissions team will consider your past and predicted academic performance, your personal statement and your references as part of your application.
If we are interested in your application we will invite you to a Visit Day some time between November and March. This visit is an opportunity for you to meet academic staff, course directors and current undergraduate and postgraduate students. The interviews we hold on these days last about 10 minutes and are a great opportunity for us to find out more about you and for you to ask any questions about what it is like to study in the School.
The interview will also help us to select the recipients of our William Boyd Dawkins Scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded in April to students that have accepted our offer at that time and will be contingent on A level results. Subject to performance at interview we will make you an offer after your visit.
