The Nu Plasma high resolution MC-ICP-MS with laser ablation system. The MC-ICP-MS technique permits the precise measurement of isotopic compositions for a wide range of elements as it combines the high ionisation efficiency of inductively coupled plasma with the advantages of multi-collector data acquisition. The Nu Plasma high resolution MC-ICP-MS at SEAES features variable zoom optics, twelve faraday detectors and a multiple ion-counting system. It can be operated in medium and pseudo high resolution modes, the latter of which allows for the resolution of interferences e.g., ArC and ArN, which are isobaric with 52Cr, 53Cr and 54Cr. Elements currently analysed for group research projects  include Cr, Fe, Zr, Ag and Cd.
