Ecology and Evolution

Our researchers use a wide range of computer, laboratory and field-based techniques in seeking to understand how biological systems evolve, function and interact.

Our research operates at the widest possible range of scales from the level of the genome through to ecosystems and the global environment.  Within the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences our researchers have strong links to the Palaeontology and the Microbial Ecology research groups, and several of our researchers are also active members of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Ancient Life (ICAL).
