Fees for research degrees
Most projects are funded from research councils or industrial sponsors arranged by a supervisor of the project and offered competitively. In these cases you do not need to concern yourself with the fees for the project.
If you are self-funding or have arranged your own funding from an external source then once your project has been accepted and agreed by your supervisor we will evaluate your proposal and calculate your requirements for computational and experimental facilities, along with any necessary field work or other significant costs. We use this evaluation to determine the fee band for your specific project.
You must either provide documentary evidence from your sponsor to confirm that your full fees will be paid on receipt of an invoice, or demonstrate that you are personally able to meet the full cost of the tuition fees and bench fees (if applicable).
You should also ensure that you have the necessary funds to cover your living costs.
